Buckley's first job as an assistant editor was on the 1983 film Tender Mercies, which featured his sister, actress Betty Buckley, who helped him land the job after hearing that the film's editor was seeking a local assistant while on location in Waxahachie, Texas. The editor was pleased with Buckley's work and took him to New York to begin his career. Since then, he has worked on many films, television series and made-for-TV movies as an editor. He landed his most notable job on The O.C.—as both an editor and director—having previously worked with Stephanie Savage and McG on the television series Fastlane. His co-editor on the series, Matt Ramsey, had previously been Buckley's editing assistant but was promoted to co-editor when Josh Schwartz initially offered Buckley the job on The O.C.. Following The O.C.'s conclusion, Buckley followed Schwartz to direct and edit his next projects, Gossip Girl and Chuck.

Aside from editing, he has ventured in producing only once in 1999 on the film Happy, Texas but more notably has directed a number of episodes on the following television series: The O.C., Gossip Girl, Chuck,Greek, the new Melrose Place, the new 90210, Privileged, The Middleman, Make It or Break It, Pretty Little Liars, and the Josh Schwartz webseries Rockville, CA.

His only acting credit is a minor role in Solomon & Sheba, a part he only landed because was editing another project in Morocco, and the producers shooting Solomon & Sheba did not want to fly in other English-speaking actors to play minor parts. He agreed to do it only as a lark.

Let’s start with Spencer this time. When she sees that someone has vandalized his mailbox, she feels sorry for him and tells Emily so. Later at school, she notices that there’s a flyer up for a French tutor, and Toby is the tu-tee (um, the person in need of tutoring). Spencer figures she’ll tutor him AND commiserate over being falsely accused of crimes. As they talk (and Spencer gives him a French version of “The Catcher In The Rye”), Spencer observes how “different” Toby seems from her initial impression of him. Could her intentions be clouded by developing feelings for the tortured Toby? The word “duh” comes to mind…but for now, let’s move on to…

Emily, who is still immersed in swimming team shenanigans with Paige. They swam a dead heat, leaving them to compete in a swim-off for captaincy of the team. Emily deals with the twist of fate in typical fashion, but Paige… not as much. In fact, Paige rides her bike in the rain (no helmet, either!) to Emily’s house, expressing regret that relations between the two of them went off the rails. She rides off before Emily can really process what’s going on with her rival. The next morning, the swim coach announces that since Paige had a bike-riding accident, the swim-off is, well…off.

Hanna, meanwhile, experiences complications with a potential new friend. Well, Caleb is not so new to the scene anymore, but Hanna discovers a secret about him (we’ll get to the HOW part in a sec): Caleb’s been crashing in the school at night. Turns out that he’s in foster care, assigned to a family indifferent to everything but the check from Social Services. Sure, there’s a bit of “business transaction” going on between Hanna and Caleb, but darn it, these two are bonding!

Aria, still paranoid that her mother may know about her date with Ezra, is confused when she finds her mom’s museum ticket inside her father’s pocket. He hems and haws, of course. Aria goes to Ella, who does a better job of hemming and hawing. But Aria knows something’s up, and decides to follow Bryon after he gets a call, dragging Hanna along with her. He goes to the school, and Aria busts her estranged parents kissing in the library (and this is how Hanna busts Caleb’s squatting, BTW). Aria doesn’t know how to process what she’s just witnessed, but she’s about to have a bigger issue plop onto her lap.

A texts Aria, saying that if she wants to know how she almost got busted, she should ask Hanna. Aria shows the text to Hanna, ready to dismiss it as a lame attempt by A to drive a wedge between them. But Hanna, honest to a fault, admits her part in the mess. Aria is hurt, so hurt that she (gasp!) does not make up with her best friend by the end of the episode. Yes, she’s THAT pissed…

Hanna is so distraught that she unburdens herself to Caleb, who by the way has been invited to crash on the spare couch at Hanna’s house. Speaking of new frenemies, Emily and Paige call a truce on their rivalry by having a friendly, pressure-free swim. As for Spencer, she goes back to Toby’s, hoping for another tutoring/bonding session, but is disappointed that he abruptly ends things, even giving her back the book. Later, Spencer’s moping about Toby and the latest complications with Ian and Melissa (they’re apparently pregnant), when she notices something inside the book: a message from Toby, and a clue in Braille that may implicate Jenna in the whole mystery.

What does the Braille translate into? What to make of the new friendships? Hanna-Caleb? Emily-Paige? Spencer-Toby? And let’s not forget about A, either. See you b

Benson started pursuing an acting career. She began working and appearing on a number of commercials, but quickly made the transition into film and television. In 2004, Benson signed a three-year contract with the daytime television series, Days of our Lives, and on November 12, 2004 began her role as Abigail "Abby" Deveraux, the oldest child of supercouple Jack Deveraux and Jennifer Horton, until May 2, 2007. She explained that, because of the number of episodes filmed a day, "you can't really mess up; you have to know all of your lines", and that she did not get a break from work.
